STANLEY UYS was Political Editor of the Sunday Times in South Africa for most of the apartheid years and a regular contributor to British newspapers and magazines (more particularly the Guardian, Observer and New Statesman) and to international broadcasters — BBC, Channel Four, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and Irish. Later, he served as London Editor of the South African Morning Newspaper Group, published his own monthly political journal Front File, and contributed chapters to several books on South Africa and Namibia.

JAMES MYBURGH was formerly a researcher for the Democratic Party in South Africa. He is currently completing a doctorate on recent South African politics.
